Dear Parents,
This morning I led an assembly with the children about the Coronavirus.
The aim of the assembly was to explain some of the facts about the virus and to reassure them that there are steps we can take to mitigate the risk of contracting it.
I used information that has been sent to schools from Public Health England to create a Power Point presentation, to structure the assembly.
I spent time discussing with the children, good practises with regard to coughing, sneezing and hand hygiene.
I reiterated to the children that if they need to cough or sneeze, they should follow the NHS guidelines of ‘Catch it, bin it, kill it.’
The children should cough or sneeze into a tissue, dispose of the tissue and then wash their hands.
If this is not possible, they should cough/sneeze into the crook of their bent arm, into their elbow or their hands, rather than coughing or sneezing into the air.
I then discussed how best to wash our hands and played the children an NHS video clip about good hand hygiene.
Please see the attached slide show to see the presentation that I used in today’s assembly.
With best wishes,
Simon Watts

Dear Parents,
Over the next few weeks, I will be looking at our website in order to streamline it, for ease of use.
Please do not worry if you temporarily see changes to the placement of pages or duplication of pages etc, the changes will be due to me trialling different approaches to how we display the information.
With thanks for your understanding,
Simon Watts
Deputy Headteacher

Dear Parents,
Many of you will be familiar with Ofsted’s ‘Parent View’ questionnaire, which we ask you to complete annually.
To reflect changes in the new Ofsted Framework, Ofsted have updated their questionnaire.
We would be incredibly grateful if you could spend a few minutes completing this, giving us valuable feedback for the school.
We would particularly appreciate your time in completing the questionnaire if your child is having an overall positive experience at school.
Parents are often keen to give feedback, in order to affect change. However, the positive comments are often missed, as parents do not always feel it is necessary to give them
Please follow the below link to the questionnaire

As always, if you have any thoughts regarding things that you would like us to consider for improvement, please do make an appointment to Mrs Singh or Mr Watts, or alternatively catch them at the gate each morning.
With thanks,
NWJS
