Explore Learning National Young Mathematicians Award
On Wednesday 5th February, four children represented the school at the Explore Learning National Young Mathematicians Award finals, hosted by Bobby Seagull, in The Natural History Museum. In order to become one of the five finalists, the Nascot Wood team competed against 1500 primary school teams across the nation. The task, set by Cambridge University, was designed to challenge not only the primary teams, but also the five secondary teams who had reach their finals too. The team from Nascot Wood were not only the overall primary winners, but the only team in the whole competition - including the secondary teams - to correctly answer the third part of the challenge. The team were praised for their positive mind-set and their ability to work collaboratively. Many congratulations have been sent from the Hertfordshire Mathematics Team as well as the whole school community. Well done, Neha, Millie, Robert and Moez.
