Science Competition - October 1/2 Term

For the first Inter House competition of 2018-19, the House Captains have set the school a scientific challenge.

Who can build a balloon race car to win a race?

The challenge was inspired by the foundation set up by James Dyson. James is a British inventor, industrial design engineer and founder of the Dyson company. He is best known as the inventor of the Dual Cyclone bagless vacuum cleaner, which works on the principle of cyclonic separation.

Below is a video, hosted by female mechanical engineer Shanice O'Mara, which explains the science behind the challenge, gives you ideas on what you might do and how you might take it to take your learning and understanding even further.
